Case study

A sports aftermovie built from supplied footage

The Plitvice Marathon and Istria 300 as two examples of editing-only postproduction work.

For the 41st Plitvice Marathon and Istria 300, the role of 282 was limited to editing and postproduction of supplied footage. Filming and production were handled by other teams.

Two sports, two kinds of energy

The Plitvice Marathon carries people, nature, effort and the atmosphere of the finish. Istria 300 calls for a more compact impact: the start line, a field of cyclists, the crowd and a sense of speed. Both are sports aftermovies, but they cannot share the same rhythm.

What an editor does with another team’s footage

The first step is to understand what was covered and where the story already exists in the material. Then come selection, pace, matching different cameras, music, image consistency and final sound. A useful edit respects the logic of the footage instead of forcing a story the material cannot support.

Clear credit is part of professional work

When production belongs to another team, that should be stated plainly. These portfolio pieces show the editing role of 282: turning already filmed sports material into a clear, energetic final built for its platform.
