Wedding edit: building a story from the day

Shaping supplied footage into a longer wedding film with room to breathe and no empty running time.

Wedding Edit is an example of a longer film assembled from supplied footage. The role of 282 was limited to video editing and postproduction; filming and production were completed by another team.

The story is not the shooting schedule

A wedding film contains the chronology of a day, but the final cut does not have to follow the clock blindly. The location, the couple, speeches and small transitional moments can create an emotional arc without forcing sentiment.

Speech, image and music need the same space

When a film includes speeches or interviews, the image should not merely illustrate every sentence. The edit builds a relationship between what is said, a reaction and the atmosphere of the location. Captions support clarity without taking over the frame.

A longer format without dead space

A multi-minute film needs changes of pace. Some sections need room while others can connect details and energy more quickly. The goal is not the fastest wedding video, but a version that remains worth watching again.
